Restricted Doomsday Syndrome Chapter 1: Toilet talks

Published:

The high school I attended built a new toilet. The two-story structure, covered with white tiles, looks very elegant. It is said that it cost 200,000 yuan and it is the best toilet in the city’s public schools. Everyone chooses a new toilet, and gradually, the old toilet is abandoned.

said it was deserted, but it is not always true. I have been there several times. Although I haven’t seen anyone, new cigarette butts often appear in the toilet cubicle. Maybe some students secretly went there to smoke.

After school this day, I chatted with me about the old toilet at the same table.

“Gao Chuan, do you remember the old toilet?” he said.

“Well, isn’t it abandoned? When will it be demolished?” Although I said that, I don’t want it to be demolished so soon. In some cases, the remote location and abandoned state of old toilets bring a lot of convenience. Presumably, those students who often use the old toilet must have their ties to each other.

Although it has an unpleasant smell due to lack of cleanup.

Another mention is that it is behind the school building, a wasteland overgrown with weeds. It takes ten minutes to get there from the classroom upstairs. There are three stone table tennis tables not far from the toilets, which have flourished for a while, but are now covered with moss.

“I haven’t heard of the demolition, after all, there are people who often go there.” said the same table.

   “I sometimes go too.”

“Really?” The same table was shocked, “Is the new toilet bad?”

“Nostalgia.” I picked up a reason casually.

“So that’s the case. But I heard that there have been several disappearances there. You have to be careful.”

This time it’s my turn to be surprised.

  ”Missing?”

“Yes, missing. Someone went in and never came out again.” The tablemates had an enthusiastic expression, as if they were talking about school rumors, and there was no sense of tension at all.

   “How do you know?”

“The rumor circulated in private, but there is also such a sentence, there are no waves without wind.”

”This kind of rumors are not credible.” I casually dealt with it: “If there is a case, the school will not be so calm, and the police will not come.”

“I’ve been here.” The **** at the table came over mysteriously: “A student in the third grade was missing for a few days. The parents called the police, but the search was on Sunday, and the school blocked the news, so many people did not I know.”

“So, did you find it?” I said so plainly, and the tablemate sighed.

“I found it, but I found it elsewhere.”

The tone of his speech is a bit unsightly, frustrated, unwilling, as if wishing that the missing senior student would never be found again. In a word, he took this incident as fun, but then again, since he found it, it wouldn’t be a big deal.

In these years, there are not a few students who do unthinkable things because of environmental pressures. Suicide is more serious than that of staying away from home.

“This is great, has he started school again?”

“Ah, um, but when someone asked him where he went when he disappeared, his answer was that he didn’t know.” The tablemate said seriously, “It seems to be amnesia. Where did I go and what I did? Can’t remember.”

Actually, I was not surprised by this result. If I changed my position, I would not confess what I did because it would be embarrassing. Of course, I don’t just play and disappear casually.

Although during this period, newspapers and news reported on such incidents, they were still very few in proportion to the total number of students in the country. It’s just that these few are gathered together, it seems a bit shocking.

Anyway, it’s just that the media are nothing to look for. They just eat this bite of food and exaggerate everything.

But the same table came to a surprising conclusion.

“I think that student must have encountered an incredible thing, so he was brainwashed.”

is really whimsical, I can only sigh that, the other party has a special hobby for mysterious events, no matter how ordinary things are, it becomes weird in his mouth, but none of them are true.

I didn’t want to hit him, so I broke the subject.

At the same table, I was immersed in my own fantasies, and didn’t care about my obvious coping.

After leaving the classroom, I went to the old toilet again.

As always, there was no one in the toilet, and no other people were seen on the road.

Several new cigarette butts were found in the compartment full of yellow urine spots and moss.

I nodded, took out the cigarette from my schoolbag, and lit it with a lighter.

In most cases, good students do not smoke, but although my grades are among the best and I am known as a good seedling of key universities, in private, I also do some things that make the teachers dumbfounded.

   such as smoking.

I smoked for the first time when I was ten years old. I went to a classmate’s house to play. On the balcony I saw the classmate’s father’s own tobacco and a stack of cigarette paper. So instigated by curiosity, I secretly rolled a piece with my classmates and pulled it up.

The classmate didn’t dare to breathe into his lungs, but he spit it out after spinning around in his mouth, and he kept complaining about the bitterness.

I took a deep breath. At first, I was worried that I might be choked, but surprisingly, my body adjusted to it.

After , I will also buy a pack of Camel cigarettes from time to time. This brand is very expensive and has very few supplies. You have to save up your pocket money every month to buy a pack. Although there is less pocket money that can be used elsewhere because of smoking, I still like this brand of cigarettes.

After all, I don’t particularly like smoking, but once the body adapts to the bitterness and flavor of tobacco burning, it is a test of willpower to quit completely.

It’s not that I lack self-control. Although it is medically said that smoking is harmful to health, there are many examples, but there are more people who die in vain without smoking than people who smoke but live over 60. My goal is only to live over 60 years old, so quitting smoking has become a dispensable thing.

Every time I come to the old toilet to smoke, I wonder if I will meet smokers.

In this school, I am probably the only good student who smokes, and the others are poor students from the teacher. Of course, it is impossible for them all to be gangsters in the future. It is very stupid to evaluate the future of the individual in the student days.

I also know a few of these people. Except for their poor test scores, they are fluent in their speech and dress, and they are no different from ordinary people in other places.

I have a similar point with them that they only smoke. Although we can talk about it, our friendship will be light.

They knew I smoked, but they never stabbed the teacher.

I thought I would meet them in the old toilet, but I never met them. Once is a coincidence, but time after time, I can’t help but wonder, is there some decisive factor? Maybe they don’t want to meet me either.

thinking so wildly, a cigarette was almost finished, and footsteps came from the entrance of the toilet.

  Someone walked in.

I don’t know why, I suddenly became a little nervous, probably because I met someone else for the first time.

I hesitate between going out or not. Maybe the other person doesn’t want to meet other people, so I feel embarrassed if I meet each other.

Smoking is not a big bad thing, but students smoke sneakily.

In the end, I still didn’t go out.

The man entered the innermost compartment of the toilet. I listened for a while, and the toilet went silent again.

I didn’t want to stay any longer, so I opened the compartment door.

I was about to go out, and there was a sudden scream from the innermost compartment of the toilet.

I was taken aback, turned around and looked over, but it was quiet again over there.

I waited for a while, but there was no movement there.

I can’t tell what I think, there is a complex emotion, worry, or curiosity. Driven by this emotion, I walked over there.

While walking, I remembered the topic of disappearance at the same table~ IndoMTL.com~ I don’t know which compartment the person is in. I guess I stopped at one place, paused, and asked aloud: ” Hello, are you okay?”

   No one answered.

“I just heard your call, I will leave if it’s okay.”

   is still silent.

In that case, I was about to pull my feet and leave, and suddenly a feeling of something wrong pulled my body.

I turned around again, catching the flash of light.

Yes, didn’t that person come to smoke? I can’t smell smoke.

Although the old toilet is dirty and smelly, it is close, and you should be able to smell smoke across the door.

If you are going to the toilet on a serious floor, there is no need to keep silent to the kind inquiries.

Of course, it is possible for the other party to do this. Maybe he is not in this compartment, maybe he stepped on the stool, so he doesn’t want to be seen as embarrassed by others.

Despite various reasons, I kicked open the compartment door.

   there is no one inside.

I don’t take it seriously. This is a warning, a signal. If you are inside, just speak up, otherwise I won’t let it go.

   did not respond.

I kicked the other compartment doors unwillingly.

Something strange happened, and the people who should have existed disappeared.

There is no one in the toilet except me.

But I had heard someone walk in and into the cubicle inside.

The ventilation window of the toilet was broken long ago, and it was rusty. No one could climb out of there. Anyway, why bother to climb the toilet window? There is nothing but a wall behind.

This weird thing made the words of the same table echo in my mind again.

“I heard that a student disappeared in the old toilet.”
